The Ohio Alpaca Breeders Association cordially invites you to join our group! Our organization was formed to work with people like you to combine the unique talents and efforts of all member farms in Ohio, regardless of size, to enhance Ohio's marketing efforts, education and support, and our blossoming alpaca industry as a whole.

We are pleased to announce that our membership has exceeded over 250, making us AOBA's largest affiliate! These Ohio alpaca farms recognize the value of their memberships to this great organization through our collective marketing efforts, networking, and providing a forum to members to exchange ideas. OABA wants to help you be more successful in raising and selling your alpacas, so join our team of local farms working hard to spread the word about the wonderful world of alpaca owning and breeding!

Requirements:

  1. Members are requested to actively serve on a committee, but the Board of Directors is NOT enforcing the committee participation by-law.
  2. Members are encouraged to attend a minimum of two out of our yearly meetings, but the Board of Directors is NOT enforcing the attendance by-law.
  3. Members of OABA must also be members of the Alpaca Owner and Breeders Association (AOBA).
  4. Any one can join OABA from the United States who is actively breeding and selling ARI registered alpacas, and can sell only the produce of two ARI registered parents as stated in the by-laws.
  5. NOTE: The Board of Directors has relaxed enforcement of its mandatory committee participation and meeting attendance. However, the Board strongly encourages participation, and values the contributions of all volunteers.

Fees:

  1. Annual membership dues are $100. This is the first time this fee has ever been raised since OABA formed. As a trade-off, we are now including the link from our web site to your site for free. This is a $50 savings. This fee is valid from January 1st through December 31. The membership must be renewed every January 1st. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide pro-rated fees at this time for partial-year memberships.
  2. Herdsire Listing. Members can list up to 10 herdsires for free on OABA's "Find A Herdsire" Web page, which includes a photo and a description. If you would like to advertise more than 10 herdsires, then a $10.00 fee will be charged for each additional herdsire that you add. Visit the Herdsire Page.
  3. Web Site Link and Logo on the Members Page.  Members can list a link to their web site from OABA's web site at no extra charge anymore since this is now included in the dues (a $50 savings). We will also include a logo placed above your listing at no additional charge. Visit the Members Page.
  4. Posting personal events for your farm or group. Post events that the general public can see, thus, using our web site as a promotional tool - FREE.  Visit the Calendar Page.
  5. Posting alpaca or farm-related classified ads. Post ads that the general public can see for free. Visit the Classifieds Page.
